It is through KWU’s academic departments that we offer our more than 50 undergraduate majors and pre-professional programs and our master of business administration degree—plus countless classes, which will fuel your passion for learning!

Art | Design

From the Visual Arts major with concentrations in Drawing and Painting to Graphic Design and Photography, the KWU Department of Art and Design offers programs that will prepare you to communicate visually.

Behavioral Sciences

The KWU Behavioral Science and Human Services Department will expose you to majors that include Criminal Justice, Psychology and Sociology as well as a minor in Political Science.


Study life science as a KWU major in Biology, Biomedical Chemistry or Biology Education (6-12). Check out our new Ecospheric Studies and Community Resilience major!

Business and Accounting

The KWU Department of Business and Accounting offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Business Management, Business Leadership, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Business Studies as well as three graduate MBA degrees.


Choose from a major in Chemistry or Chemistry Education in KWU’s Department of Chemistry.

Communication Studies | Theatre Arts

In KWU’s Communication Studies and Theatre Arts Department, you’ll find degree programs in Communications, Public Relations, Speech, Speech and Theatre Education (6-12) and Theatre.

Computer Studies

Offering strong hands-on preparation in technology, the KWU Computer Science Department delivers majors in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems.

Emergency Management

KWU’s Emergency Management department is the only school in the state to offer undergraduate degrees in Emergency Management. The program allows you to select tracks in Homeland Security, Victim Services and Non-Governmental Organization.


In KWU’s Department of English, you have the choice of three majors: English, English with Writing Emphasis and English Education (6-12).


The KWU Department of History offers the choice of two bachelor degree programs in History and History Education (6-12).

Interdisciplinary Studies

The KWU Interdisciplinary Studies program allows you to create your own major based on your passions and career goals.

Math and Physics

Here in the KWU Department of Math and Physics you’ll find programs in Mathematics, Mathematics Education (6-12), Engineering Physics, Engineering and Physics Education (6-12).

Music | Music Education

Train your mind, ears and hands as a Music Education (PreK-12) or Music Performance Major in KWU’s Department of Music and Music Education.


Pursue a bachelor of science degree in nursing in KWU’s outstanding Department of Nursing.

Political Science

Religion and Philosophy

Sport and Exercise Science

You can select from a variety of majors in KWU’s popular Sport and Exercise Science Department including Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education (PreK-12) and Sport Management.
